Clarkson is expected to provide additional scoring punch to a Knicks squad who are mostly reliant on superstar Jalen Brunson’ and much of the team’s starters on offense.
In signing the veteran, New York is getting a player who averaged 16.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds over 26.0 minutes last season with the Jazz.
Since 2020, Clarkson scored the most points off the bench with 4,589 and recorded four games of 40 points or more as a second-stringer — the second most in league history.
Besides JC, the Knicks also announced the signing of Guerschon Yabusele and Mike Brown as the franchise’s new head coach.
Yabusele logged 11.0 points and 5.6 rebounds in 73 games last season on a 50% shooting clip while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.
