Call him “Slim Luka” now.
The LA Lakers superstar took a major step this offseason to improve his health and conditioning, gracing the cover of Men's Health magazine.
Doncic’s new physique quickly gained attention on social media, with the 26-year-old looking leaner and stronger, having shed weight and added muscle.
"Just visually, I would say my whole body looks better," the Slovenian ace told the magazine.
A calf injury limited the five-time All-Star to a career-low 50 games last season, during which he averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 7.7 assists.
Despite his strong individual performance, the Lakers—who acquired Doncic from Dallas in a game-changing trade alongside championship big man Anthony Davis at the February deadline—were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
While Doncic has firmly established himself as one of the league’s premier players, he has also faced criticism about his weight and conditioning.
This offseason however, he committed to a transformative fitness plan, working closely with a training team that included a physiotherapist and a nutritionist, all with the goal of being in the best shape of his life.
According to the magazine article, Doncic contacted his manager the day after the Lakers' playoff exit and immediately made it clear he was ready to begin his training program.
"Every summer, I try my best to work on different things," he said. "Obviously, I'm very competitive. This summer was just a little bit different. It kind of motivated me to be even better."

Doncic’s dietary regimen now includes fasting for nearly 16 hours each day, following a high-protein, low-carb nutritional program with whey protein shakes. His revamped workout routine now includes weightlifting, resistance-band exercises, agility drills, and on-court training.
And of the biggest changes for Doncic this offseason was taking a full month off from basketball in May to allow his body a much-needed recovery—something he hadn’t done in years.
"This summer was just a little bit different. It kind of motivated me to be even better," the Slovenian ace spoke.
