Jordan Clarkson is finally turning the page.
The former Sixth Man of the Year is expected to sign with the New York Knicks once he clears waivers from the Utah Jazz, according to senior NBA insider Shams Charania on Tuesday (PH time), July 1.

This comes after Charania also reported that Clarkson and the Jazz agreed to a contract buyout ahead of the start of free agency, parting ways before what would have been the final season of his previous deal.

Clarkson averaged 16.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds last season on 41/36/80 shooting splits, continuing to deliver as a dependable scorer off the bench.
The 33-year-old had been a cornerstone of Utah’s second unit since arriving midway through the 2019–20 season and was the last remaining member of the franchise’s playoff core from 2022.
His departure signals a clear shift in direction for the Jazz, who are leaning into a youth movement after selecting guards Ace Bailey and Walter Clayton Jr. in the 2025 NBA Draft. Utah also traded Collin Sexton to the Charlotte Hornets and waived forward Johnny Juzang, signaling a full roster reset.
Now, Clarkson brings instant offense, veteran savvy, and a fearless scoring mindset to a Knicks team fresh off its first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years.
New York fell to the Indiana Pacers in six games, and soon after, the front office made the surprise decision to part ways with two-time Coach of the Year Tom Thibodeau.

After years of quietly anchoring the Jazz through transition, Clarkson now steps onto one of basketball’s biggest stages. He’ll join a retooled Knicks squad led by Clutch Player of the Year Jalen Brunson along with Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart.
Most importantly, he gives New York what it sorely lacked in the playoffs: a reliable, proven scorer off the bench who can keep the offense humming when the stars sit.
