Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal has entered the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols, per the team.
Protocols require players to be sidelined at least 10 days or record two negative COVID-19 tests in a 24-hour period before they can resume basketball activities.
Beal is averaging 23.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists across 28 starts this season.
The Wizards are 16-15 and sixth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns also has entered the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols, the team announced on Thursday.
The Timberwolves now have seven players in protocols, with Towns joining Anthony Edwards, Patrick Beverley, Josh Okogie, Taurean Prince, Jarred Vanderbilt and McKinley Wright IV.
Towns is averaging 24.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists across 30 appearances this season.
Minnesota is 15-16 and ninth in the Western Conference standings.
Towns, 26, announced in January that he tested positive for COVID-19.
