Scoreboard

Wizards 120, Pistons 99

Pelicans 113, Mavericks 111

Thunder 108, Clippers 94

Suns 134, Warriors 105

What went down

Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns demolished the Golden State Warriors at home.

In a chippy third quarter that saw Klay Thompson ejected, the Suns outscored the Warriors and built a 19-point lead heading into the final frame. The Warriors tried to rally back early in the fourth, but the Suns refused to let up.

Booker spearheaded the charge with his third straight 30-point game, finishing with 34 points, seven assists, and three steals.

Over at New Orleans, the Pelicans took down the visiting Dallas Mavericks even without Zion Williamson (hip), Brandon Ingram (concussion protocol), and Herb Jones (knee).

Eight Pelicans scored in double-figures led by Trey Murphy III, who delivered 22 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting, including four triples. Naji Marshall made 15 points in a spot start, while Devonte’ Graham and CJ McCollum added 14 apiece.

Luka Doncic continued his hot start to the season, dropping 37 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in the loss.

Big-time baller

The Thunder finally got their first win of the season, thanks to a spectacular performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

After sitting out the previous game due to a bruised hip, SGA stuffed the stat sheet with 33 points, five rebounds, eight assists, three steals, and three blocks to propel his team past the Clippers.

What he said

Emotions flared for the Suns and Warriors early in the second half. Klay Thompson and Devin Booker went at it, resulting in Thompson’s first-ever ejection.

Here’s what Devin Booker had to say about the incident after the game: "I love Klay Thompson. I have from the beginning. From the draft, coming out, I said I wanted to be Klay Thompson. But that doesn't excuse us from competing against each other and talking a little mess with each other."

Did you see that?

Stephen Curry blamed Kevin Harlan and the rest of the panel for jinxing his perfect free throw shooting percentage.
