What went down
Two games were on hand on Friday.
The Pacers withstood a 54-point outing from Giannis Antetokounmpo thanks to timely defensive stops and Tyrese Haliburton’s go-ahead triple.
Haliburton finished with 29 points and 10 assists while Bennedict Mathurin was equally superb with 26 points and 11 rebounds. The Pacers’ 18-point lead was erased by the efforts of Antetokounmpo. They were down by 10 points in the fourth before making a late rally.
Over in Mexico City, the Hawks delivered in crunch time to topple the Magic in a special edition of the regular season. Dejounte Murray drilled a corner triple to give Atlanta the lead with 31.2 seconds remaining. The Magic had a decent look but failed to convert in the waning moments.
It was the first time the Hawks played in Mexico City and they made sure to have a lasting first impression. Trae Young starred with 41 points, five triples, and eight assists, including his last dime that led to Murray’s clutch trey.
Big-time baller
Giannis Antetokounmpo laid it out all over the court with a 54-point effort in the loss against the Pacers. His 54 points is the highest point total by a player this season, surpassing Zach LaVine’s 51.
Antetotokonmpo was one point shy of his career-high in a game where co-star Damian Lillard had to sit out with calf soreness. The Greek Freak’s huge game was eclipsed by his two costly turnovers with a minute left.

Did you see that?
The NBA in-season tournament is in full swing. The promos have been off the charts and the courts have been eye-catching as well. Check out this promo from the Atlanta Hawks. A little too outside the box? Maybe. But it sure got the attention it wanted.
Only Hawks Fans know where the real action is 👀
