The 20-year-wait is over for Germany.

Dennis Schröder posted a stellar 26-point, 12-assist double-double to lead the world champions past Finland, 98-86, and into their first EuroBasket final since 2005.

With the win, Germany ended the Finns’ Cinderella run and remained unbeaten in the tournament at 8-0, moving one step away from their first championship since 1993.

They will face Türkiye in the title game after its 94-68 demolition of Greece in the other semifinal.

Franz Wagner fired 20 of his 22 points in the first half, as Tristan Da Silva contributed 13. Daniel Theis recorded a solid double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

After holding a slim 30-26 lead at the end of the first quarter, Germany ignited a 16-2 run to start the second frame, extending their lead to 46-28.

Although Finland cut a once 18-point deficit to eight at 73-81 entering the fourth quarter, Germany held the Finns to just two points in the first five minutes of the final frame while extending their lead, 87-75.

The world champions then delivered the knockout punch with a trio of three-pointers in 71 seconds, extending their lead to 96-80 with under four minutes to play.

Meanwhile, Olivier Nkamhoua paced Finland with 21 points, and Lauri Markkanen added 16.

Despite the loss, Finland’s journey to the semifinals marked a historic achievement, as they reached this stage for the first time in EuroBasket history.
