The Kings lit the beam and spoiled LeBron’s return to Sacramento 20 years to the day from his NBA debut.

Warriors 106, Rockets 95

Sixers 126, Blazers 98

Kings 132, Lakers 127

Clippers 123, Spurs 83

What went down

On a night of blowouts, the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers put on an unexpected show. De’Aaron Fox was well on his way to another De’Aaron Fox-type of night, going deep in his bag and putting up buckets in all the ways he can - driving, Euro-stepping, pulling up, and splashing for deep.

The Kings were in control early, looking to ruin the return of LeBron James to Sacramento, 20 years to the day from his NBA debut. The Lakers managed to storm a comeback, with The King sending the game into overtime with a layup in the closing seconds of regulation.

In overtime, it was a Malik Monk takeover. The former Laker cooked in OT, scoring 11 of his 22 points. Anthony Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead LA, but it wasn’t enough to beat the beam.

At the end of it, Fox ended up with 37 points and a hurt hand, Domantas Sabonis fouled out, and the Kings escaped with a win (thanks to a Kevin Huerter dagger).

Big-time ballers

At this very early point in the season, Nikola Jokic just can’t stop impressing. What’s more impressive, his 28-14-5 line or the fact that he only missed four shots? None, if you’re the guy on the receiving end of that.

Another big man doing impressive things, expectedly, is Jokic’s fellow perennial MVP candidate Joel Embiid. He scored 35, grabbed 15 rebounds, and blocked six shots.

He’s doing damage without his partner-in-crime James Harden, but Tyrese Maxey (26 points and 10 rebounds) is making a great case as second option.

LeBron James went back to Sacramento on the day he played in his first-ever NBA game. His stats then were jaw-dropping for a rookie: 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

His stats now as a 38-year-old veteran: 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists. Mind-blowing stuff.

What he said

The In-Season Tournament is about to launch. This is what the players have to say about “a whole new look” for the tourney:

Did you see that?

Steph Curry really liked his matchup versus Dillon Brooks, he couldn’t hide it:

Extra pass

All eyes are on Damian Lillard as his Milwaukee Bucks go against the Miami Heat. South Beach is where we thought Dame would end up, but he found himself in Milwaukee alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks and the Heat have had interesting battles in the past, even without the added layer of the Lillard sage. Now, Jimmy Butler’s got even more reason to cook.

The Bucks-Heat game will air on NBA TV Philippines tomorrow at 8:00AM.
