What went down
The Miami Heat got hammered at home by Golden State Warriors in their previous outing. That beating, along with the huddle incident between Jimmy Butler and coach Erik Spoelstra, led many to believe that the Heat would regain composure and bounce back strong, considering they're the top seed in the East.
But what transpired today was the opposite.
The Heat suffered their third straight loss, this time at the hands of the New York Knicks, who were without Julius Randle.
Miami was up by 15 points at the end of the third period, 88-73, but allowed the Knicks to score 38 points, including a 19-2 run, in the fourth. Twenty of those 38 came from Immanuel Quickley.
The Heat played great for three quarters but came up short when it mattered as they are now just a half-game ahead of the idle Milwaukee Bucks.
Big-time baller
Trae Young continues his stellar play this season. Against the Warriors, he scored 33 points, including four 3s, and dropped 15 dimes. He leads the league this season in 30-point, 10-assist games with 18.
What's in a number?
9 — In the loss to the Hawks, Klay Thompson made 9-of-16 from deep en route to 37 points in 40 minutes. That's the most 3s he's hit and minutes he's played since coming back.
Did you see that?
Another trick from Luka Magic.
