De’Aaron Fox had 28 points and six assists in his return after missing two weeks with an ankle injury.

Scoreboard

Celtics 114, Knicks 98

Raptors 111, Wizards 107

Bucks 118, Bulls 109

Kings 132, Cavaliers 120

What went down

De’Aaron Fox picked up where he left off. The last time we saw him, he was dropping consecutive 30-plus-point games versus the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. He went on to miss five straight games due to a sprained right ankle, which immediately sent the Sacramento Kings to a three-game losing streak.

In his return, Fox showed no sign of hurt. He scored 28 points, leading the Kings to a 12-point win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. His inspiring comeback rubbed off on the rest of the Kings, which saw five other players score in double figures.

The Kings have won three straight games.

Meanwhile, in Washington, things aren’t as good. The Wizards have lost three straight and their latest at the hands of the Toronto Raptors got real ugly, real quick. The Wizards were up 16 points with less than six minutes left in the game, but somehow ended up with the L. Going scoreless in that amount of time and letting the other team go on a scoring run will do that.

Pascal Siakam hit the eventual game-winner, scoring a game-high 39 points in the process.

The Wizards still had a chance to either tie or win at the end, but they turned the ball over instead, failed to foul immediately, and just seemed to let go as the buzzer sounded. It wasn’t a good look for the Wizards - and it might stay that way for quite a while until they figure things out.

Big-time ballers

Two Eastern Conference superstars balled out for their respective teams to get Ws. Jayson Tatum and Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 points each in wins versus the Knicks and the Bulls, respectively.

What he said

The historically bad play of the Wizards (2-8) has prompted Paul Pierce to spew some truth:

Did you see that?

DeMar DeRozan is known not for his passing but for his strong midrange game. That makes this play even more remarkable:

Also, did you see whatever this is that Josh Hart did to Jrue Holiday?

Extra pass

It’s In-Season Tournament time once again, which means (we hope) an across-the-board extremely competitive gameday on those extremely vibrant courts.

Catch the Philadelphia 76ers put their 8-game winning streak on the line versus the Indiana Pacers at 8:00 AM on NBA TV Philippines.

It’s either that or witness two young greats in Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren battle it out at 8:30 AM on NBA League Pass.
