The Phoenix Suns, led by Chris Paul, notched a home win over the Jazz, who played without key guys.

Scoreboard

Cavaliers 95, Knicks 93

Pelicans 117, Pacers 113

Bulls 111, Thunder 110

Suns 115, Jazz 109

What went down

Two of the top four teams in the West faced off as the Suns came away with a home victory over the Jazz. There was a little bit of silver lining for the Jazz as their depleted lineup gave the Suns quite the scare. Six of Utah’s heavy rotation players, including stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, did not suit up due to a variety of injuries. Royce O’Neale, Joe Ingles, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Mike Conley didn’t see action as well. The Suns, meanwhile, were missing Deandre Ayton, Jae Crowder, and Cameron Payne.

But the Jazz were well within striking distance until Chris Paul took over in the fourth. The veteran point guard finished with a season-high 27 points, 14 assists, and was one rebound away from a triple-double. Devin Booker was also instrumental in the win with his 33-point, 7-rebound output. The short-handed Jazz were led by Jordan Clarkson’s 22 points.

The two teams meet again on Thursday in Salt Lake City. Hopefully, both the Suns and the Jazz have their guys back on the court.

Big-time baller

A handful of stars had high-production games like Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Nikola Vucevic, Zach LaVine, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. But today’s big-time baller goes to Chicago rookie Ayo Dosunmu. He had 24 points, the most he’s had in his young career, on 10-for-14 shooting, and added eight assists, and five rebounds. The 38th overall pick and Chicago native has been a solid contributor for the Bulls this season.

What he said

There are a lot of interesting nuggets here in this postgame interview from CP3. From how he attacked the Jazz defense, what he saw in the game, and how he keeps his teammates involved, the ace guard kept it real with his answers.

Did you see that?

Jordan Clarkson had a far-from-perfect shooting night but in true Jordan Clarkson fashion, he caught fire late and drilled three triples in the final minutes against the Suns. The Filipino-American guard has now made 1,000 3-pointers.
