Following their sixth straight win, the Celtics have risen to the top of the Eastern Conference.

Scoreboard

What went down

The Celtics’ meteoric rise in the Eastern Conference continues after they moved to the No. 1 spot in the East. The dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 65 points to power Boston past the gritty Timberwolves. Compounded by the Sixers’ loss to the Suns, the Celtics are now the top dog in the East with a 47-28 record.

How hot have the Celtics been? They’ve astonishingly won 24 of their last 28 games, including the last six. Boston has the same record as Miami but has won their last two matchups this season.

The Timberwolves have been on a roll themselves since the All-Star break but met a roadblock in the form of the Celtics. Anthony Edwards had 24 points in the loss.

Big-time baller

In a battle between the top teams in the league, the Suns once again proved that they are a step above everyone else. Devin Booker powered his squad with 35 points on a scorching 59.1 percent shooting clip, including 3-of-5 from deep.

The Suns continue to dominate the competition, winning eight straight and improving to 61-14 overall. The Sixers stumbled out of first place in the East and all the way to fourth in a tight race for the No. 1 seed.

What he said

Kyrie Irving finally made his home debut for the Nets. Unfortunately, the Hornets played spoilers and came out with the road victory. Here’s Irving during the postgame interview:

Did you see that?

The Pelicans not only rallied from a 23-point deficit but also withstood 39 points from LeBron James to get the victory. Brandom Ingram returned to the lineup and scored 26 points to stun his former team.
