What went down

The Boston Celtics have turned their season around, and in doing so, the race to the top of the Eastern Conference just got a bit more interesting.

Brilliant performances by the Celtics’ All-Star duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum helped propel Boston to an impressive 48-point victory, 135-87, over the PhIladelphia Sixers. It was the Celtics’ 11th win in the last 12 games.

Brown had a team-high 29 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists, while Tatum contributed 28 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.

The Sixers looked listless throughout the entire game, which was also the first time that newly-acquired James Harden was in their home building. He received a standing ovation, but could do nothing but watch his team get blown out at home.

The numbers were obviously ugly for the Sixers. The Celtics shot 25 of 45 triples, while the Sixers only made eight of 32. The Celtics also had 28 assits compared to the Sixers’ 17.

It was a big victory for the Celtics as they continue to rise up the standings. They are now in sixth place with a 34-25 record. The Sixers are fifth at 34-23.

Big-time baller

Despite the best efforts of the Indiana Pacers, they were simply no match for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak had a season-high 50 points in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 128-119 win over the Indiana Pacers. The last time Giannis dropped 50 was in the NBA Finals. Is he starting to approach peak form once again? Scary.

What he said

Playing an intense game online when your wife or significant other needs your attention to tell you something important? We’ve all been there. And according to Cleveland Cavaliers coach JB Bickerstaff, Jarrett Allen was no different when he was informed about being an All-Star reserve to replace James Harden:

''It's a great moment but it's so Jarrett at the same time. It was like literally he couldn't pause his video game so we told him and he goes right back to his video game. But you knew how much it meant to him. You could tell by the smile on his face.''

Did you see that?

Who dropped 27 points to help his team win without their best player on the floor?
