What went down
Caris LeVert summoned the spirit of Andrew Toney while Donovan Mitchell continued his blazing start as a Cleveland Cavalier. Facing last year's finalists, the Cavs pulled off a massive win in overtime against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden.
LeVert and Mitchell each dropped 41 points, becoming the first duo in Cavaliers history to put up 40 points each in a regular season game. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving did the same feat in the 2016 NBA Finals. This wild game also had Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each put up 32 points.
LeVert caught fire in overtime, dropping 11 points, including the dagger four-point play. The Cavaliers did this without All-Star Darius Garland, who is sidelined with an injury.

The Cavs have Don to thank for their 4-1 start. The three-time All-Star has put up at least 30 points in all four of their wins, averaging 31.0 points on 46.2 percent shooting.
In Milwaukee, the Bucks stayed undefeated after dominating the New York Knicks. Giannis Antetokounmpo was his usual unstoppable self, hanging 30 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists on the Knicks.
The two-time MVP has been flying under the radar again as he’s gotten Milwaukee off to another fine start. Without Khris Middleton, the Bucks have gotten a lift from the steady Jrue Holiday and a fit-again Brook Lopez, who had a big double-double against the Knicks of 14 points and 11 boards with five blocks.

The Toronto Raptors probably thought they had an easier matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers today with Joel Embiid sitting the front end of a back-to-back. They probably didn’t account for Tyrese Maxey going scorched earth on them.

The prospect scouts had as a below-average shooter in the 2021 Draft drilled a career-high nine triples en route to 44 points, also a career-high. James Harden was happy to take a backseat to the Maxey show.

The San Antonio Spurs surprised everyone earlier today when they waived Josh Primo, the 12th pick in last year’s draft. This was made more shocking since the Spurs had just picked up the third-year option on his rookie deal 18 days ago.
The Spurs have yet to address the situation, though Primo has released a statement through ESPN.
