What went down
Anthony Davis happened. That's what.
The game was tight by the end of the third quarter, with the Toronto Raptors taking a slim 89-88 lead against the Los Angeles Lakers.
It was then that eight-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis took charge and erupted for 20 of his season-high 41 points, including a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe to snatch the victory for the Lakers, 132-131.
For good measure, AD also went for 11 rebounds, six assists, and a block.Anthony Davis with a season-high 41 PTS including 20 in the 4th quarter 😤

LeBron James pitched in a double-double of 22 points and 12 assists, along with five rebounds, a steal, and a block, giving the Lakers consecutive wins at home.
After the win against the Raptors, James is 469 points away from making 40,000 career points in the NBA. He is projected to reach the unprecedented milestone near the end of February.
The Lakers are back to .500 at 19-19 and stand tenth in the Western Conference.
RJ Barrett made 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors, who drop to 15-22.
The other games of the day featured the Kings rolling past the Pistons, 131-110, and Desmond Bane leading the Grizzlies to a victory over Luka Doncic and the Mavericks, 120-103.
Big-time baller
The New York Knicks' newest star OG Anunoby continues to show his true value for his new franchise, as he helped throttle the Portland Trail Blazers at the Madison Square Garden, 112-84.
The newly-acquired forward scored 23 points, along with four boards, a steal, and a block. This marked his most points in a game since becoming a Knick.
He scored 16 of those in the first quarter, which helped open a 19-point lead New York.

It's the Knicks' fifth-straight win since acquiring OG from the Toronto Raptors last December 30.
What he said
Draymond Green is ready to turn over a new leaf for the Golden State Warriors, speaking to the media for the first time after the NBA lifted his indefinite suspension after 12 games.
The Warriors are 12th in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record.
"I've cost my team enough," the forward said. "You caused this yourself. You don't get the grace."
“I’ve cost my team enough… It’s not a time for me to come back and be like, ‘Alright, I’m gonna take my time and get back when I can'. No, you caused this yourself. You don’t get the grace.”

Did you see that?
Karl Anthony Towns detonated at the rim as he posterized Moritz Wagner. His massive jam got the whole bench celebrating and pointing fingers at the Magic forward.

Extra Pass
Tomorrow, we will witness the Toronto Raptors go head-to-head with the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena.
Toronto’s frontcourt recently re-shuffled a few weeks back, sending OG Anunoby to New York in exchange for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. The winds have shifted north as the Raptors have won three of their four games since the trade.
Meanwhile, the Clippers have been dominant ever since they acquired James Harden. The Clippers have been playing well, racking up six wins in their last seven.
It will be entertaining to watch the new-look teams and how they’re new pieces will square off against each other. It’s going to be a tough task for the Raptors to face the Big 3 of Leonard, Harden, and George, but let’s see how far this fresh edition of Toronto can go.
You can catch the Raptors and the Clippers live at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, on NBA TV Philippines.
