The USA Basketball squad finally arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday morning for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
The U.S. is one of the 32 nations competing on international basketball's biggest stage, which opens on Friday, August 25 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
Arriving with the squad was Miami Heat coach and Filipino-American Erik Spoelstra, who has been to Manila several times.
Spoelstra is serving as one of the assistant coaches on the coaching staff of Team USA head coach Steve Kerr, along with LA Clippers coach Ty Lue.

Team USA is coming off a successful exhibition leg in Abu Dhabi, capping the tour with a 99-91 comeback win over Germany, and have a few days of practice in Manila before the competition begins. They open their FIBA World Cup campaign on Saturday against New Zealand. Other opponents they'll face in Group C play are Greece and Jordan.
Games of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will be shown on free-to-air channels TV5 and One Sports and cable channels One Sports+ and PBA Rush, as well as streaming platforms like Pilipinas Live, Cignal Play, and Smart Livestream.
