NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the said deal.
Murray will now join a team featuring superstar Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum in hopes of upgrading their roster to compete in a much-loaded Western Conference.
The 27-year-old averaged a career-best 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists while shooting 45.9% from the field and 36.3% beyond the arc last season.
He also connected on a career-best 201 3-pointers in the 2023-24 season.
New Orleans made the playoffs this season, but got swept by the top-seed OKC Thunder in the opening round.

But Murray’s addition to New Orleans provided an exciting backcourt pairing with McCollum, who can now slot back to his original shooting guard position with the arrival of Murray as the primary playmaker.
Meanwhile, the Hawks latest move means the end of the short-lived backcourt of their superstar backcourt of guard Trae Young and Murray after just two seasons together.
In Year 1, Murray and Young had a first-round playoff exit that followed up with a more disappointing 36-46 record this past season, and missed the postseason altogether.
Atlanta, who took French teenager Zaccharie Risacher as the no.1 overall pick in 2024 NBA Draft, got Nance Jr., who averaged 5.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists last season and Daniels, who averaged 4.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
