Bronny James is apparently heading towards the G League.
James has been assigned to join the South Bay Lakers, the Purple and Gold team’s G League affiliate just before the former’s season opener against the Salt Lake City Stars in the weekend.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported the development on Friday, November 8 (PH Time).
The Lakers today assigned Bronny James to their NBA G League affiliate, South Bay, where he’s expected to debut vs. Salt Lake City on Saturday, sources said. James will be on Lakers roster vs. 76ers Friday, then rejoin South Bay.

While he is expected to play for South Bay, the son of Lakers superstar LeBron James will be on LA's roster first when they host the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow, Carania added.
From that point onwards, the plan is for the 20 year-old to have double duties with Bronny playing for South Bay in its home games while suiting up for the Lakers when the former plays on the road.
For now, sources said, the G League plan is for Bronny James to play in only South Bay home games – as he shuttles between both leagues and team manages his time on respective rosters.

The 55th pick of the recent draft appeared only in four of the Lakers’ first eight games and scored a total of four points in 13 minutes. He last played in LA’s 131-114 blowout loss to the Grizzlies yesterday.
Earlier, Bronny made history with his dad when the two became the first father-son duo in league history to play in a regular season game in the Lakers’ season-opening victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
