Williams III, who was acquired in the Jrue Holiday deal, will reportedly have season-ending right knee surgery.

Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III is expected to miss the rest of the season for right knee surgery, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Per ESPN, Williams III suffered damage to his kneecap and ligaments in a loss on Nov. 5 to the Grizzlies.

Williams, who was acquired from Boston as part of this summer’s Jrue Holiday trade, had an MRI after suffering his injury in Sunday’s loss to Memphis. He was knocked to the ground underneath the Grizzlies’ basket and came up limping. He tried to keep playing, but left the court and headed straight to the locker room.

The oft-injured Williams, 26, is averaging 6.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in six appearances with the Trail Blazers.
