The Indiana guard will be out indefinitely after sustaining an Achilles injury while working out.

Indiana Pacers guard Edmond Sumner has been diagnosed with a torn left Achilles, the team announced on Thursday.

The injury occurred during an offseason workout. He has been listed as out indefinitely.

Edmonds, 25, played in 53 games last season for Indiana, including 24 starts. He averaged 7.5 points in roughly 16 minutes a night.

Earlier this offseason, Indiana exercised the team option on Sumner’s contract for the 2021-22 season.
