Nikola Jokic missed his chance for a get-back win over MVP rival Joel Embiid, but the Denver Nuggets didn’t miss in getting their home victory back from the 76ers.

Jokic led the NBA champion Nuggets to a 111-105 victory over the visiting 76ers Sunday (PHL) as Embiid missed yet another game in Denver.

During warmups, the Sixers reported that Embiid had discomfort in his balky left knee. Nuggets fans in the Ball Arena weren’t happy about Embiid sitting the game out.

Playing without Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers had monster efforts from Paul Reed and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Reed finished with a career-high 30 points and 13 rebounds, while Oubre added 25 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

The Nuggets, however, proved too much, with Jokic posting 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting, 16 rebounds and seven assists.

Jamal Murray had 23 points, seven assists, and three rebounds, while Michael Porter Jr. added 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in the victory.

With the win, Denver moves to 32-15 in the Western Conference standings, while Philadelphia drops to 29-15 in the East.
