Stephen Curry isn't going anywhere but in the Bay Area.

The Golden State Warriors announced the signing of their superstar guard on one-year extension on Friday, August 30 (PH Time) with the deal worth $62.6 million, as per NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

It keeps the four-time NBA champion under contract through the 2026-27 season, when he will turn 39 years old.

Wojnarowski added that Curry is “guaranteed $178 million over the next three years of his Warriors deal” with his extension “expected to be signed today.”

The 36-year-old is coming off a historic campaign in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, winning his first-ever Olympic gold and helped Team USA reign supreme  after holding off France in the title decider.

Last season, Curry averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting nearly 41 % on 3-pointers. He led the league in clutch scoring and even claimed the  Clutch Player of the Year award.

Despite the Warriors missing the playoffs after a 46-36 season, Curry's individual performance remained at an elite level, earning him All-NBA and All-Star selections for the 10th time in his career.

The upcoming 2023-24 season marked the 2022 Finals MVP’s 15th year with the franchise, as the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made is eager to further cement his legacy.

Golden State saw significant changes this offseason, including the departure of Curry’s Splash Brother in Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks and Chris Paul to the San Antonio Spurs.
