Coast-to-Coast: Thunder, Pacers gain 2-0 series leads; Lakers fight back in Game 2

All three home teams, bannered by Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers’ series-tying victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, took care of business in their respective first-round playoff games.

Both the OKC Thunder and Indiana Pacers raced to a commanding 2-0 leads in their respective opening round series, as the LA Lakers atoned for their lackluster loss in Game 1 with a big-time response against the Minnesota Timberwolves.  


PACERS, THUNDER SEIZE FURTHER CONTROL; LAKERS BOUNCE BACK

  • Indiana Pacers (2-0) def. Milwaukee Bucks (0-2), 123-115: Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam recorded double-doubles as the Pacers spoiled Damian Lillard’s return to beat the Bucks, seizing a commanding 2-0 lead in their East opening round duel.

  • Double Indy Nice: Haliburton (21 points, 12 assists) and Siakam (24 points, 11 rebounds) teamed up to give Indiana its sixth win over Milwaukee in their last eight playoff meetings dating back to last year’s postseason.

  • OKC Thunder (2-0) def. Memphis Grizzlies (0-2), 118-99: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren combined for 71 points in another strong Thunder showing over the Grizzlies in Game 2, taking a 2-0 series lead in the process.

  • LA Lakers (1-1) def. Minnesota Timberwolves (1-1), 94-85: Luka Doncic fell one assist shy of a triple-double, racking up 31 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists to lead the Lakers in tying in their West playoff series with the Timberwolves thanks to a Game 2 dub.
