New team but the same offensive-minded Paul George.

Only this time, the Minnesota Timberwolves walked out victorious.

George dropped a team-high 23 points in his Philadelphia Sixers debut, but lost 121-111 to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in NBA preseason action on Saturday, October 12 (PH time).

All-Star teammate Tyrese Maxey added 21 markers, Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in 16 points, and big man Andre Drummond had a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds.

George scored his first bucket off a drive with 6:05 left in the opening frame and the Sixers trailing, 8-16.

Up next for the Timberwolves are the New York Knicks while Philadelphia squares off against the reigning champion Boston Celtics.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors rallied late to frustrate the Sacramento Kings, 109-106, to improve to 3-0 this preseason.

Late Kai Jones slam seals Clippers’ win, Wizards, Suns score strong dubs

Kai Jones drained the game-winning alley–oop slam  with two seconds left and the LA Clippers escaped the Trail Blazers, 101-99 for a second successive win.

In Washington, Kyle Kuzma went off with 22 points to push the Wizards to a dominating 113-95 home win against the Toronto Raptors for their first preseason win.

Chris Boucher came off the bench to topscore the Raptors with 22 points in a losing effort as Scottie Barnes accounted for 16 markers and eight boards.

Washington then faces the Brooklyn Nets next as Toronto travels to Boston to duel against the Celtics.

In Phoenix, Cade Cunningham dropped a near triple-double and the Detroit Pistons started strong and never looked back in a 109-91 demolition of the Suns.

Cunningham filled up the stat sheets with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists as the Pistons got one back over the Suns after their 105-97 loss just two days ago.

Tobias Harris wound up with 22 markers and Jaden Ivy banked in 16 more.
