The LA Clippers continue to have the Golden State Warriors’ number this season.

Norman Powell scored 23 points and the Clippers survived a late Warriors rally to hack out a close 102-99 decision for their second win of the season against their Pacific Division rivals.

After a Norman Powell that pushed the Clippers lead back to 102-92, Golden State scored seven unanswered points to make it a single possession game at 99-102 with 35 seconds left.

The Warriors then had two chances to tie the game, first with Stephen Curry who missed a three-pointer before Gary Payton II’s another attempt from deep hit the back iron.

James Harden managed to just score 12 points on a measly 4-of-15 shooting but had 16 assists and six rebounds a day removed from passing Reggie Miller as the no. 2 all time in the NBA three-point list.

Ivica Zubac chipped in eight markers but grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds on top of four assists while Terance Mann and Amir Coffey combined for 25 points.

Apart from hitting 16 threes, the Clippers also relied on probably the one that became instrumental since moving in the Induit Dome this season.

The Wall—a section in the LA’s new home floor that is filled with die-hard Clips fans expected to shower the team’s opponents with boos and loud chants especially when taking free throws—did its job to the fullest.

Golden State, who entered the game as the league’s worst free-shooting team, went 9-for-19 while LA made 16 of their 18 attempts from the charity stripe.

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry poured 26 markers, including 18 in the second half, as the Warriors saw their three-game winning streak snapped.

Andrew Wiggins added 22 markers while Jonathan Kuminga added 12 markers.

With the loss, Golden State slipped to the second spot in the West behind the OKC Thunder (11-3).

The Clips resume their three-game homestand against the Sacramento Kings (8-6) while the Warriors host the Atlanta Hawks (6-8) next.
