After a Tyrese Maxey split from the charity stripe that tied the game at 116, the veteran drove past Guerschon Yabusele before scoring the eventual game-winning basket over George with 24 seconds left.

Bradley Beal added 17 markers while Jusuf Nurkic had a 15-point, 15-rebound double-double while Royce O’Neal also chipped in 15 markers.
It was the fifth straight win for the Suns, who now improved to 6-1 and are in joint-second with the Golden State Warriors in the West behind leaders OKC Thunder (7-0)

Meanwhile, Maxey topscored the Sixers (1-5) with 32 points spiked on six threes on his 24th birthday and the night he also reached 5,000 career points. Yabusele had a career-night of 19 markers and five triples.
George had 15 points in his Sixer debut but struggled all-game long shooting just 4-of-15. He missed his first five shots before hitting a corner triple to start things going in the second frame.

The multi-time All-Star was the Sixers’ biggest offseason acquisition in hopes of adding another star to their superstar tandem of Joel Embiid and Maxey. But a bone bruise in his left knee stalled George’s debut for the Sixers as the 34-year-old missed the team’s first five games.
Earlier, with the game tied at 104, Maxey and Yabusele connected on three straight triples for a 113-104 Sixers advantage with 5:16 ticks left.
