Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves pounded inside just enough to power through in Game 3.

Edwards netted 29 points as the Timberwolves survived LeBron James’ offensive onslaught to pin down the Lakers, 116-104, regaining control of their West opening round series, Saturday (PH time), April 26.

With the win, Minnesota gained a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 scheduled on Monday (PH time), April 28.

The 23-year-old superstar added eight rebounds, eight assists, and five threes in pacing the Timberwolves, who dominated the Lakers with a 56-26 advantage in paint points.

But it was Jaden McDaniels who led Minnesota in scoring with 30 points while Julius Randle submitted 22 markers.

James hit three consecutive treys in the fourth to keep the Lakers within striking distance, 99-100, with under six minutes left to play.

But Edwards scored seven as part of Minnesota’s 16-5 closing run to seal the victory in their first playoff game back in the Twin Cities.

James topscored LA with 38 points — including 22 in the first half — alongside 10 rebounds, five threes, and four assists in a losing effort.

Luka Doncic battled through a stomach bug to post 17 markers, but struggled offensively shooting just 6-for-16 and had five turnovers. Austin Reaves added 20.
