In a mega blockbuster, the Lakers traded for who should be the next face of their franchise, acquiring Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis.

While Doncic deals with a calf injury that has limited him to just 22 games this season, the Slovenian star’s career trajectory is undeniable.
Set to turn just 26-years-old this month, Luka has career stats of 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.3 steals with five All-NBA First Team selections.
Doncic’s playoff numbers are equally astounding, with him going for 30.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.7 steals in 50 playoff games that included two runs to the Western Conference Finals and an NBA Finals appearance last year.
But while there’s excitement in Luka going to the Lakers, Doncic acknowledged his first NBA home in Dallas during his first public comments following the trade.
“I thought I’d spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship,” Doncic said, addressing the Dallas community.
“The love and support you all have given me is more than I could have ever dreamed of,” he added.
