Fourth quarter Kyrie Irving entered the chat again on the night Luka Doncic struggled offensively despite recording a triple-double.

Irving and Doncic went to work in a nice road win for the Mavericks.

Kyrie Irving went full clutch mode anew while Luka Doncic registered a triple-double despite the worst shooting night of his career, as the Dallas Mavericks staved off the San Antonio Spurs, 113-107, to sweep their regular season series.

Kyrie Irving led the Mavericks with 28 points, including 10 in the final frame, and some critical baskets down the stretch behind an array of mid-range jumpers and nifty finishes.

Luka Doncic tallied an 18-point, 10-rebound, 16-assist triple-double but went misfiring the whole game along with a measly 22%(6-out-of-22) shooting. However, the Dallas superstar dazzled the San Antonio crowd with plays ranging from unreal no-look, over-the-head-pass to an even mesmerizing ΒΎ lob dimes.

Dante Exum also provided a solid night of 16 points, built on a perfect four-out-of-four shooting beyond the arc, in 28 minutes.

The Mavericks led by as many as 13 points but got outrebounded, 48-40. After demolishing the Spurs in their first three meetings this season by a margin of 18.3 points,  Dallas grinded out this one out on the road for back-to-back wins.

Tre Jones topscored for San Antonio with 22 points, while Devin Vassell added 19 markers. Victor Wembanyama had 12 points and 11 rebounds for his 37th double-double of the season.

After trailing 93-84 early in the fourth, the Spurs rode a 11-0 run capped off by a Malaki Braham triple to gain the upper hand at 95-93 with 6:57 seconds left.

However, the Mavericks outscored the Gregg Popovich-mentored team, 20-12, the rest of the way en route for a 19th road win this season.

The win helped Dallas (40-29) to stay within striking distance of the sixth-seed Sacramento Kings (39-28) with the latter only behind by percentage points.

On the other hand, the Spurs (15-59) remained the cellar-dweller of the West.
