Kevin Durant’s elite scoring ability saw him hit another milestone, with another waiting not far on the horizon.
The Nets superstar and recent NBA 75th Anniversary Team honoree scored his 24,000th career point on Monday night. Durant becomes just the 26th player in league history to reach that mark.
A series of jumps on the NBA’s all-time scoring list are next. Durant trails Hall-of-Fame guard Allen Iverson by less than 400 points for 25th place, with Ray Allen and Patrick Ewing not far behind.
A four-time scoring champion, Durant scored 99 total points through this season’s first three games entering Monday night. Last season’s playoff run marked his highest single postseason scoring average (34.3 ppg) in his career.
