The New York Knicks have one more step to climb to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.

Jalen Brunson looked ready to take it.

Brunson erupted for 26 of his 39 points in the second half as the Knicks overturned a 14-point deficit to deny the Celtics, 121-113, in Game 4 to seize a commanding 3-1 East semis lead, Tuesday (PH time), May 13.

After Jayson Tatum’s three-point play tied the game at 102, New York outscored Boston, 19-11, in the final 6:12 of regulation  to push the defending champions to the brink of elimination.

Earlier, the Knicks banked on a dominant 37-23 third quarter to take a slim 88-85 lead entering the final frame.

Brunson added 12 assists, five rebounds, and four threes while Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges added 23 markers apiece. OG Anunoby logged 20 points.

Game 5 returns to Boston on Thursday (PH time), May 15 with New York aiming to close out the Celtics in their own backyard.

Meanwhile, Tatum dropped 42 points – including 20 in the first half β€”  in a losing effort for Boston.

However, he exited the game with under three minutes left due to an apparent leg injury that casts more doubts to his availability in the next game.

Derrick White poured 23 markers while reigning Finals MVP Jaylen Brown added 20 points as Boston trailed 3-1 for the first time since the 2023 playoffs.
