Jakob Poeltl isn’t going anywhere — but Dennis Schröder and Duncan Robinson are heading somewhere new.

Day 2 of 2025 NBA free agency saw a flurry of movement, as the Toronto Raptors locked in their starting center, the Sacramento Kings addressed a glaring hole at point guard position, and the Detroit Pistons bolstered their perimeter shooting with one of the league’s most reliable marksmen.

Poeltl agreed to a four-year, $104 million contract extension that will keep the 29-year-old Austrian center in Toronto through the 2029–30 season, according to senior NBA insider Shams Charania.

Coming off a career year in which he averaged 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and shot 63% from the field, Poeltl remains one of the most efficient big men in the league.

He has shot at least 60% from the floor in each of the past eight seasons, a feat matched only by Rudy Gobert and DeAndre Jordan.

The Raptors view Poeltl as a foundational piece alongside 2022 Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes, midseason trade acquisition Brandon Ingram, and Canadian wing RJ Barrett. With the no. 9 pick in last week’s draft, Toronto also added South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles to bring defensive upside to the frontcourt.

In Sacramento, the Kings agreed to a three-year, $45 million deal with Schröder, per Charania.

The 31-year-old veteran guard will join his 10th NBA team after splitting last season between the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, and Detroit Pistons. Across 75 games, he logged 13.1 points and 5.4 assists.

Sacramento parted ways with longtime franchise star De’Aaron Fox at last season’s trade deadline and experimented with Malik Monk as the starting point guard — with mixed results.

The Kings missed the playoffs last season at 40–42 and continue to shuffle their backcourt rotation, which now includes rookie Nique Clifford and second-year guard Devin Carter.

As Schröder leaves Detroit, the Pistons found a needed sniper in Duncan Robinson.

The 31-year-old sharpshooter agreed to a three-year, $48 million deal that will be completed via sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat. Detroit will send Simone Fontecchio to the Heat as part of the transaction as reported by Charania.

Robinson, a career 39.7% 3-point shooter, gives Detroit a direct replacement for Malik Beasley, whose potential return was derailed by a federal gambling investigation. He ranks eighth in made threes since the 2019–20 season (1,192) and submitted 11.3 points over seven seasons with Miami.

The Pistons have also signed Caris LeVert and Paul Reed in free agency as they continue to retool around their young core of superstar Cade Cunningham alongside Jalen Duren and Jaden Ivey.
