Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James lead first fan returns of NBA All-Star voting

No surprises here, really.

Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers are, once again, leading the tally for the NBA All-Star game in 2024.

At least for the first fan returns.

Antetokounmpo has garnered 2,171,812 votes to lead the Eastern Conference, while James tallied 2,008,645 votes in the Western Conference.

The two stars have played each other as respective team captains of the NBA All-Star Game thrice since the draft was instituted in 2018. Team LeBron won twice, but Team Giannis picked up the victory in 2023.

Joining Antetokounmpo in the top 10 of the Eastern Conference frontcourt so far are Joel Embiid (PHI), Jayson Tatum (BOS), Jimmy Butler (MIA), Jaylen Brown (BOS), Bam Adebayo (MIA), Mikal Bridges (BKN), Kristaps Porzingis (BOS), Kyle Kuzma (WAS), and Paolo Banchero (ORL).

Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers is at the top of the list for guards with 1,380,795 points. Joining him are Damian Lillard (MIL), Trae Young (ATL), Donovan Mitchell (CLE), Tyrese Maxey (PHI), Jalen Brunson (NYK), LaMelo Ball (CHA), Derrick White (BOS), DeMar DeRozan (CHI), and Jrue Holiday (BOS).

Moving over to the Western Conference, Kevin Durant (PHX), Nikola Jokic (DEN), Anthony Davis (LAL), Kawhi Leonard (LAC), Paul George (LAC), Alperen Sengun (HOU), Victor Wembanyama (SAS), Chet Holmgren (OKC), and Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) join James among the top frontcourt vote-getters.

Meanwile, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks leads the guards with 1,452,733 points.

Joining the top ten in the West are Stephen Curry (GSW), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC), James Harden (LAC), Kyrie Irving (DAL), Ja Morant (MEM), De'Aaron Fox (SAC), Klay Thompson (GSW), and Austin Reaves (LAL).

Votes from fans account for 50% of the final figure, while NBA players and the media panel account for 25% each.

How to vote

Fans can select up to ten players by clicking this link.  Votes can also be tallied via the NBA app. Fans with NBA ID may submit one full ballot each day.

There will also be days where votes will be counted three times. These "3-for-1 Days" will be on January 6, January 13, January 16, and January 20, all Philippine time.

The second fan returns will be released on January 12.

The 73rd NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 19, Philippine time, in Indianapolis.
