Luka Doncic and the Mavericks hope they can contain Damian Lillard and deal the Blazers another loss.

What's up with the Mavericks?

Before this upcoming duel with Damian Lillard, Luka Doncic went head-to-head with LeBron James.

Doncic, who leads the league in scoring with 34.3 points per game, served up some cold daggers in LA when the Mavs beat the Lakers in double overtime, 119-115.

Luka Magic made a game-tying 3 with six seconds left in regulation and another one with 47.8 ticks remaining in the first overtime to keep Dallas in the game.

He finished with 35 points, 14 boards, and 13 assists - his 10th triple-double of the season. Let's see if Doncic can keep the momentum going against another top superstar.??

What's up with the Blazers?

While the Mavericks are on the rise, the Blazers are slowly sliding down in the Western Conference standings. They are currently 12th in their conference with a 19-22 record.

In their last outing, Portland suffered a 119-113 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at home, despite getting 50 points from Lillard. Their star guard, who ranks ninth in scoring at 28.2 points per game, registered his 13th career 50-point game in the regular season.

But that wasn't enough as the Blazers absorbed a season-worst five straight losses, losing 10 of their last 13 games. Portland has been dominated by Dallas in their last six meetings by an average of 25 points.
