The Philadelphia 76ers were on a roll with seven straight victories when they took on the Orlando Magic the other day. Everyone expected them to cruise by the young Magic team after they build a 21-point lead in that game. But Orlando rallied and stunned them with a 119-109 win to end the Sixers' winning streak.
MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid carried the Sixers in that loss with 30 points, 11 boards, and five assists. It was the ninth time this season that he achieved a 30-10-5 line. Unfortunately for the Sixers, there's a huge chance Embiid won't suit up tomorrow.
If Embiid doesn't play, the Sixers will have to rely on their backcourt duo of James Harden and Tyrese Maxey on offense.
The Magic, meanwhile, had a slow start to the season but are 15-11 in their last 26 games. In that shocking win over the Sixers, rookie sensation Paolo Banchero impressed with 29 and nine, while the Wagner brothers combined for 41 points.
Most people expected the Magic to lose games against top teams but so far they've done exactly the opposite. They've beaten the Boston Celtics three times and the Golden State Warriors twice.
The season series is 2-1, in favor of the Sixers, but the Magic hope they can replicate their win the other day and show everyone it wasn't a fluke.
You can catch the Sixers and Magic in action live tomorrow at 8:00 AM on NBA League Pass.
