What's up with the Mavericks?

The Mavericks were riding a five-game winning streak before they suffered an embarrassing 30-point loss to the New York Knicks at home a few days ago.

Only Luka Doncic (31 points) and Spencer Dinwiddie (13 points) scored in double figures as the team struggled to manufacture some offense. Dallas only shot 31 percent from the field, making only 6-of-44 from the 3-point area.

They were dominated by the Knicks on the glass (55-37) and in the paint (45-36). Can the Mavericks put that tough loss behind them when they face their inter-state neighbors? We find out tomorrow.

What's up with the Rockets?

The Rockets, on the other hand, had lost 12 straight games before they won two of their last three.

Two days ago, the lowly Rockets beat the Los Angeles Lakers—a team also struggling to find its footing—in overtime behind an impressive performance from hotshot rookie Jalen Green.

The No. 2 overall pick went for 32 points, 10 of which came in the extra period. Green finished the game by making 13-of-21 field goals and adding three rebounds and three assists. Fellow rookie Alperen Sengun, meanwhile, set career-highs with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

The Rockets are the worst team in the West but are hoping they can string together two wins in a row when they host the visiting Mavericks.
