What's up with the Lakers?
Before losing two straight games, the Lakers finally got into a groove after a bad start to the season by winning eight of their 10 games.
?Anthony Davis was phenomenal during their 8-2 run, posting averages of 35.3 points (65 percent shooting), 15.6 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game.
But the Davis show was disrupted momentarily when the Lakers faced the Cavs. Davis played only eight minutes in the game, exiting early because of an illness. The Lakers lost that game and another one against the Raptors with Davis and LeBron James out.
Reports say that the two stars are probable to suit up against the skidding Sixers. Let's see if Davis plays and continues his hot streak to help the Lakers get back on track.
What's up with the Sixers?
The Sixers are also in a slump right now, absorbing three straight losses, the most recent one a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to the Houston Rockets.
In those losses, Joel Embiid has shouldered the offense with a 31-point average. Tyrese Maxey, their star guard who has been a revelation for them, continues to be sidelined. Fortunately for the Sixers, their other star, James Harden, finally saw action again after sitting out a month.??
Against the Rockets, Harden looked rusty. He did score 21 points but only shot 4-of-19 from the field. He dished out seven assists but also made seven turnovers. If Philly wants to break out of its funk, Harden will need to play more efficiently and be the second star Embiid needs while waiting for Maxey to return.
