What's up with the Knicks?
The New York Knicks were riding a nine-game winning streak before they hit a wall, losing three of the next four games. In their last outing, though, they were able to bounce back with a huge comeback win over the Blazers.
Immanuel Quickley provided quality minutes for the Knicks, who were still missing the injured Jalen Brunson at the point. Quickley led New York with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Julius Randle complemented him with 24.
Josh Hart, who has been an impactful player for the Knicks since he got there, finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists off the pine.
New York is currently fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 41-30 record.
What's up with the Nuggets?
The Denver Nuggets have been so dominant this season, behind the superb play of MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic, that everyone was pretty surprised they went on a brief four-game losing streak. ??Fortunately, the Nuggets ended that skid with a huge win over the lowly Detroit Pistons. With that victory, the Nuggets were able to clinch the Northwest Division and secure a playoff spot.
Jokic produced 30 points, shooting 14-of-18 from the field, and also had 10 rebounds and nine assists. His supporting cast also showed up as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 20 points, Jamal Murray with 19, and Aaron Gordon chipped in 15.
Denver is currently first in the Western Conference with a 47-23 record.
Last meeting
These two teams are facing each other for the second time this season. New York won the first matchup, 106-103, in November behind 34 points from Julius Randle.
