Coast-to-Coast: Lakers win big in NBA Rivals Week

Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers emerged as big winners during NBA Rivals Week, taking convincing wins over the Celtics and the Warriors.

All but two teams were in action as the NBA had one of its busiest days of the season, with 14 games scattered across the Association.

Miami Heat (22-22) def. Brooklyn Nets (14-32), 106-97: Bam Adebayo goes for 17 points and 16 rebounds as the Heat spoil the Nets’ jersey retirement for Vince Carter.


Los Angeles Lakers (25-18) def. Golden State Warriors (22-23), 118-108: Anthony Davis dominates and the Lakers take down two of their most well-known rivals in a matter of days in NBA Rivals Week.


Indiana Pacers (25-20) def. San Antonio Spurs (20-23), 136-98: The Pacers return the favor and crush San Antonio as both teams split the NBA Paris Games.


Minnesota Timberwolves (24-21) def. Denver Nuggets (28-17), 133-104: 34 points from Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves cool the Nuggets at home.


Boston Celtics (32-14) def. Dallas Mavericks (24-22), 122-107: The defending champion Boston Celtics repeat over the Mavericks in their first meeting since the 2024 NBA Finals.


Orlando Magic (24-23) def. Detroit Pistons (23-22), 121-113: 32-9-7 for Paolo Banchero as the Magic stop the Pistons on their tracks.


Charlotte Hornets (12-30) def. New Orleans Pelicans (12-34), 123-92: LaMelo Ball fires 25 points as the Hornets win big against New Orleans.


New York Knicks (30-16) def. Sacramento Kings (23-22), 143-120: Josh Hart has a 20-18-11 triple-double and the Knicks steamroll the Kings at home.


Houston Rockets (30-14) def. Cleveland Cavaliers (36-9), 135-131: Amen Thompson’s triple double fuels the Rockets as Houston sends Cleveland to a third straight loss.


Toronto Raptors (13-32) def. Atlanta Hawks (22-23), 117-94: Scottie Barnes drops 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Raptors dominate the Hawks.


Memphis Grizzlies (31-15) def. Utah Jazz (10-33), 125-103: Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Grizzlies stay hots with a strong win over the Jazz.


Philadelphia 76ers (17-27) def. Chicago Bulls (19-27), 109-97: Tyrese Maxey’s 31 points lead the 76ers to victory on the road in Chicago.


Phoenix Suns (23-21) def. Washington Wizards (6-38), 119-109: Nick Richards was one rebound short of a 20-20 game as the Suns take one over Washington.


Los Angeles Clippers (26-19) def. Milwaukee Bucks (25-18), 127-117: James Harden’s 40 powers the Clippers to victory over the visiting Bucks.
