Coast-to-Coast: Grizzlies keep striding, Trail Blazers roll to fourth straight win

Big games from Paul George and Tyrese Maxey paved the way for the Philadelphia 76ers’ shackling a seven-game skid after outlasting the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Both the Memphis Grizzlies and the suddenly streaking Portland Trail Blazers stayed on the winning course on the same night the Philadelphia 76ers finally woke up from a nightmarish skid. 


GRIZZLIES, TRAIL BLAZERS STAY ON POINT 

  • Philadelphia 76ers (16-27) def. Cleveland Cavaliers (36-8), 132-129: Paul George and Tyrese Maxey combined for 59 points as the Sixers ended a seven-game skid in edging the East-leading Cavaliers.

  • Portland Trail Blazers (17-28) def. Charlotte Hornets (11-30), 102-97: Anfernee Simmons poured 17 of his team-high 27 points in the second half for a fourth straight Trail Blazers win. 

  • Memphis Grizzlies (29-15) def. New Orleans Pelicans (12-32), 129-115: Make it five straight wins for the Grizzlies after cooling off the Pelicans in the Grind City.
