The Kings' free-shooting guard was the fastest NBA player to hit 1,000 career 3s, and quickly ascended Sacramento's career list.

The crown for king of the 3 in Sacramento has been passed.

With his first 3-pointer against the Jazz on Thursday (PHT), Buddy Hield passed franchise icon Peja Stojakovic as the Kings’ all-time leader in made 3s.

The former No. 6 overall pick had passed Hall of Fame guard Mitch Richmond for second last season while joining Stojakovic as the only players in franchise history with more than 1,000 makes from downtown in a Kings uniform. He is also the fastest player in NBA history to make 1,000 3-pointers.

A career 40.6% shooter from deep, who was traded to the Kings midway through his rookie season, Hield has made more than 270 3-pointers in each of the last three seasons.
