Boston's Brad Stevens named 2023-24 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year

Brad Stevens, president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics, won the NBA Basketball Executive of the Year award for the first time.

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens has been named the 2023-24 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year. He has won the annual award for the first time.

Stevens is in his third season in his current position after serving as the Celtics’ head coach for eight seasons. He assembled a team that went an NBA-best 64-18 in the 2023-24 regular season.

His player acquisitions leading into the season included two of Boston’s starters, guard Jrue Holiday and forward-center Kristaps Porzingis.

The voting panel for the NBA Basketball Executive of the Year Award consisted of team basketball executives from around the NBA. Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti and Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly finished in second and third place, respectively.

Stevens won by a large margin though with 16 first place votes and a total of 101 points. Presti was second with 47 points.
