A ravaging Storm struck the Lynx, as Seattle became the first team this season to hand Minnesota a loss in both the regular season and Commissioner’s Cup play.

Meanwhile, the Mercury spoiled Paige Bueckers’ return for the Wings, while the Sparks got their revenge on the slumping Aces.

STORM COOL OFF LYNX; MERCURY, SPARK CONTINUE TO PICK UP STEAM

  • Seattle Storm (6-4) def. Minnesota Lynx (9-1), 94-84: Erica Wheeler scored seven of the Seattle Storm’s final 10 points — including the dagger three-pointer with 46.1 seconds left — to help snap the Minnesota Lynx’s nine-game win streak to start the season.

Nneka Ogwumike powered her way to 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Storm, who now share an identical 3-1 record with the Lynx atop the Western Conference standings in the WNBA’s mid-season tournament.

  • Phoenix Mercury (7-4) def. Dallas Wings (1-10), 93-80: Satou Sabally scored 20 points for her sixth 20-point game of the season, helping the Phoenix Mercury spoil Wings star Paige Bueckers’ return and 35-point outburst.

Despite the loss, Bueckers — back after missing four games due to concussion protocol and illness — made her first six shots and became just the fourth rookie in Dallas franchise history to score 30 or more in a game.

  • LA Sparks (4-7) def. Las Vegas Aces (1-10), 97-89: Rickea Jackson erupted for a career-high 30 points, leading the Sparks to a revenge win over the slumping Aces.

Azurá Stevens added a double-double of 19 markers and 10 rebounds for a double-double as the Sparks improved to 2-2 in the WNBA’s mid-season tournament.
