It took five games, but Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings are finally in the win column.

The reigning top overall pick of the recent draft helped the Wings break through and snap a four-game losing skid to start the 2024-25 season.

Meanwhile, at the top of the standings, the Minnesota Lynx and the defending champion remain unbeaten — and unbothered.

BUECKERS, WINGS FINALLY ON BOARD; LIBERTY, LYNX STRETCH UNBEATEN STARTS

  • Dallas Wings (1-4) def. Connecticut Sun (0-5), 109-87: Paige Bueckers fired a career-high 21 points en route to claiming her first-ever WNBA win thanks to 22-point Wings rout of the winless Sun.

  • Historic Paige: Bueckers added seven assists and five rebounds and became the first player in WNBA history with 60 points and 30 assists through her first five career games.

  • New York Liberty (4-0) def. Golden State Valkyrie (2-2), 95-67: Breanna Stewart finished with an efficient 24-point outing on a 10-of-14 shooting, pushing the champion Liberty’s unbeaten start to 4-0 after crushing the Valkyries.

New York, who started 4-0 for the second successive year, joined last year’s Finals opponent and league-leading Minnesota Lynx (5-0) as the only undefeated teams left.

  • Minnesota Lynx (5-0) def. Seattle Storm (3-2), 82-77: Napheesa Collier made league history after pacing the red-hot Lynx to a fifth straight win to open the season at expense of the Storm.

Collier became the first player to record five or more steals and two blocks in a single quarter, doing so in the opening frame on top of submitting a 16-point, 10-rebound double and five assists. Courtney Williams topscored Minnesota with 23 markers.

  • Phoenix Mercury (4-1) def. Chicago Sky (0-5), 94-89: Behind a strong fourth quarter, the Mercury completed a 16-point comeback to keep Angel Reese and the Sky reeling to fifth straight loss.

Phoenix’ new dynamic duo of Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas continue to thrive, combining for 30 points, 18 assists, and 15 rebounds in a resilient bounce-back dub at home.

  • Atlanta Dream (4-2) def. LA Sparks (2-4), 88-82: Allisha Gray dropped 25 points to steer the Dream's winning road trip in LA for a third consecutive victory.

Gray led a balanced Atlanta attack, overcoming Dearica Hamby’s team-high 28 points and Kelsey Plum’s 27 to send the Sparks to their fourth loss in the last five games.
