WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, DPOY Napheesa Collier lead 2024 All-WNBA First Team

WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx were unanimously selected to the 2024 All-WNBA First Team.

Las Vegas Aces center-forward and 2024 WNBA Most Valuable Player A'ja Wilson, along with Minnesota Lynx forward and 2024 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier have been unanimously voted to the 2024 All-WNBA First Team, the league announced on Thursday, October 17 (Philippine time).

Voting was done at the end of the regular season. Players were chosen regardless of their position. Each First Team vote is worth five points, while a Second Team nod is three points.

Here are the details for the All-WNBA First and Second Teams.


ALL-WNBA FIRST TEAM

A'ja Wilson (335 points) | Las Vegas Aces center-forward

A’ja Wilson continues to redefine dominance in the WNBA, as she ties for a record third MVP award in her seventh season.

Selected unanimously to the All-WNBA First Team for the third consecutive year, Wilson averaged a league-record 26.9 points per game, led the league with 2.58 blocks per game, and grabbed 11.9 rebounds per game. Her historic season saw her become the first unanimous MVP since Cynthia Cooper in 1997.

Napheesa Collier (335 points) | Minnesota Lynx forward

Napheesa Collier enjoyed her finest season yet, tying Wilson with a perfect 335 points for the All-WNBA First Team. The Minnesota Lynx forward won her first Defensive Player of the Year award and earned her third All-Defensive Team nod.

Collier ranked second in steals per game (1.91), third in rebounds (9.7), and fifth in points per game (20.4), showcasing her two-way brilliance throughout the season.

Breanna Stewart (331 points) | New York Liberty forward

Breanna Stewart remains a perennial force in her eighth WNBA season, earning her seventh All-WNBA Team selection and sixth First Team appearance.

Stewart averaged 20.4 points (fourth in the league), 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.68 steals, and 1.26 blocks per game, continuing to be a dominant two-way player. Her consistent excellence helped the Liberty emerge as one of the top contenders in the league.

Caitlin Clark (302 points) | Indiana Fever guard

Caitlin Clark made history as the first rookie since Candace Parker in 2008 to be selected to the All-WNBA First Team. She is the fifth rookie named to the First Team since 2000, joining an exclusive club with Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings, and Diana Taurasi.

The 2024 Rookie of the Year set records with 337 assists and 122 three-pointers, while averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.33 steals per game. Clark also became the first rookie to record two triple-doubles, cementing her as a future face of the league.

Alyssa Thomas (225 points) | Connecticut Sun forward

Alyssa Thomas continued to deliver across all areas of the court for the Connecticut Sun, earning her third All-WNBA selection and second consecutive First Team honor.

Thomas averaged 7.9 assists (second in the league), 8.4 rebounds, and 1.55 steals per game, while leading the WNBA with three triple-doubles, bringing her career total to a league-record 11. Her versatility and leadership were key to the Sun’s success.


ALL-WNBA SECOND TEAM

Sabrina Ionescu (204 points) | New York Liberty guard

Sabrina Ionescu remains one of the league’s premier guards, earning her third All-WNBA selection. The Liberty star ranked ninth in the league in points per game (18.2) and fifth in assists (6.2), while extending her streak of consecutive games with a made three-pointer to 61, the second-longest streak in WNBA history.

Ionescu became just the third player in league history to make 100 threes in consecutive seasons.

Kahleah Copper (167 points) | Phoenix Mercury guard-forward

Making her debut on the All-WNBA Team, Kahleah Copper shined in her ninth season, ranking third in the WNBA in scoring with a career-high 21.7 points per game.

Copper delivered nine games with at least 30 points and was the only player to post back-to-back 30-point outings twice during the season. Her scoring ability made her a standout in an otherwise difficult season for the Mercury.

Nneka Ogwumike (154 points) | Seattle Storm forward

Nneka Ogwumike continued her remarkable consistency, earning her seventh All-WNBA Team selection. The Seattle Storm forward averaged 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and ranked third in steals per game (1.86).

Ogwumike’s all-around game remains among the best in the league, making her a critical piece of Seattle’s roster.

Arike Ogunbowale (107 points) | Dallas Wings guard

Arike Ogunbowale solidified her place among the WNBA’s elite scorers, finishing second in the league with 22.2 points per game while also ranking eighth in assists (5.1). The dynamic Dallas Wings guard led the league in steals (2.13) and free throw percentage (92.1), further showcasing her offensive and defensive prowess.

Jonquel Jones (102 points) | New York Liberty center

Jonquel Jones earned her fifth All-WNBA Team selection after another impressive season. The Liberty center ranked sixth in the league in rebounds (9.0 per game) and eighth in blocks (1.28 per game), while also contributing 14.2 points per game. Jones’ presence in the paint was crucial for New York’s title hopes.

Each member of the All-WNBA First Team will get $10,300, while the Second Team members will receive $5,150.
