The best passer in college basketball is apparently heading to Dallas.
Ryan Nembhard, the NCAA’s assists leader last season and Gonzaga’s starting point guard, signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks after going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, according to league insider Jonathan Givony.

No. 59 prospect on the ESPN Top-100 led college basketball with 9.7 assists per game.
The 22-year-old is the younger brother of Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard – who recently played in the NBA Finals.
Ryan averaged 9.8 assists per game — the highest in Division I — along with 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals. He helped guide the Bulldogs to a 26–9 record and a West Coast Conference Tournament title.
In Gonzaga’s second-round NCAA Tournament loss to eventual runner-up Houston, he stood out with 11 assists against one of the country’s top defenses.
Nembhard had 18 double-digit assist games, including a two-game stretch where he totaled 31 assists, and posted a 3.92 assist-to-turnover ratio, one of the best in the nation.
Although Dallas didn’t trade back into the second round after drafting Cooper Flagg first overall, the Mavericks wasted no time adding Nembhard to the fold.
