Trae Young made 26 points and 13 assists in his 29th double-double of the season.

Trae Young scored 26 points and dished out 13 assists to help the Atlanta Hawks cruise past the Los Angeles Lakers, 138-122, on Wednesday (PHL).

He also knocked down six of nine attempted three-pointers.

Dejounte Murray, who has been the topic of potential trade rumors with Los Angeles' D’Angelo Russell, produced 24 points, nine assists, and two steals.

This is the seventh-straight game where Murray netted 20+ points, tied for the second-longest such scoring streak of his career.

Atlanta also saw Jalen Johnson and Clint Capela each snag double-doubles. Johnson chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds, while the big man Capela followed with 13 points and 12 boards.

Bogdan Bogdanovic meanwhile became the sixth Hawk in franchise history to knock down 600 three-pointers with his second triple of the game. He made a total of four against the Lakers on Wednesday.

Atlanta then gave 15th overall 2023 draft pick Kobe Bufkin a chance to shine as he scored his first-ever NBA bucket. He got to keep the ball afterwards.

The team in purple and gold struggled defensively without their best defender Anthony Davis due to a hip spasm. Austin Reaves and LeBron James had to carry most of the load for the Lakers, finishing with 28 and 20 points, respectively.

It was a rough stretch for the Lakers after their double-overtime victory against the Golden State Warriors, absorbing back-to-back double-digit losses to the Houston Rockets and to the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks improve to 20-27 as the tenth team in the East, while the Lakers slide to 24-25 as ninth in the West.
