Coach Finch will be join his Timberwolves players in Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns for the annual event in Indianapolis. For only the second time in franchise history, a Timberwolves coach will make it to the All-Star Game. Flip Saunders was the first in 2004. This is coach Finch's first time to coach the All-Star game.
The Timberwolves are currently 35-15 this season, which ties for the greatest 50-game start to a season in franchise history (35 victories in 2003–04). The Wolves started the 2023–24 season with a 14–4 record, and on December 4, 2023, Finch was awarded the Western Conference Coach of the Month for October and November.
