What went down

A total of five teams improved to 5-1 records in a busy day around the association. The Knicks, Bulls, Wizards, Heat, and the Warriors all racked up their fifth win of the young season.

The Wizards' heart-stopping double overtime victory over the Celtics emerged as the cherry on top of Sunday's 11-game slate. Bradley Beal fired 36 points and filled the stat sheet with seven rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block. Kyle Kuzma had 17 points and pulled down a career-best 17 boards while Montrezl Harrell also had a double-double with 20 and 14.

Beal gave the Wizards the lead after a strong drive to the hoop with roughly a minute remaining. Spencer Dinwiddie, who finished with 20 points himself, pushed the lead to three off a floater and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope put a ribbon to the game with a clutch steal as time expired.

Big-time baller

RJ Barrett had himself a game to remember, helping the Knicks notch win number five. He sizzled for a career-high 35 points on 12-for-18 shooting, highlighted by six triples. He also had eight rebounds and six assists.

Barrett was unstoppable all-game long but particularly in crunch time, scoring 16 points in the final frame. He drilled two clutch treys in the final two minutes to keep the Pelicans at bay.

What he said

Wes Unseld Jr. is in his first year as a head coach and he already seems so comfortable. It's fitting that he's calling the shots for Washington where his father Wes Unseld built his Hall of Fame career, including a championship. The Wizards' hot start continues.

Did you see that?

It was also a wild finish in Minnesota. Down by two with merely seconds left, the T-Wolves were able to make a stop and were off to the races. The Nuggets had the last laugh after Will Barton had an in-your-face denial to secure the victory.
