What went down

The Golden State Warriors once again defeated the visiting Houston Rockets, 120-101, last night at Chase Center.

The Dubs had a spectacular 39-23 first quarter output which set the foundation for the blowout win. It was easily a wire-to-wire game since they had their lead increase to 25, and even managed to hold a double-digit cushion ahead of the Rockets for over 30 minutes.

GSW made easy work of the sinking Rockets as they shot 53 percent from the field and 48 percent from the 3-point arc. Houston wasn't able to recover from their blunders early in the game and were limited to only 44 percent from the field and a disappointing 11 percent for long-distance shooting.

Andrew Wiggins was really feeling it tonight after making 36 points on 14-of-19 from the field, including eight three-pointers. Stephen Curry remains consistent with his MVP numbers, tallying 30 points, three rebounds, and ten assists. Jordan Poole started for the Warriors and had 21 markers and two steals. This win improves the Warriors to a 13-11 record, slowly bouncing back from their initial season skid.

Houston is now down to a 6-17 win-loss, tied with the last-place San Antonio Spurs at the bottom of the Western Conference rankings. Kevin Porter Jr. tried to keep his team afloat with 20 points while KJ Martin helped him out with 13 points and seven rebounds. Jalen Green had an off night against the defending champs as he missed 13 of his 19 shots, finishing with 13 points and three assists.

Big-time ballers

Domantas Sabonis poured it all for Sacramento in their win over the Los Angeles Clippers as he posted a team-high 24 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander remains exceptional as he led the Thunder against the Timberwolves with 33 points, six assists, three steals, and a block in 35 playing minutes. Josh Giddey pitched in a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. On the other team, D’Angelo Russell finished with 27 points, three rebounds, and six assists.
